Berkeley Nov. 24th Dear Mrs Stanford The box of wine you so kindly sent arrived last night, and I hasten to tell you how much we thank you for your thoughtful remembrance. I think it is so good of you, dear friend, to remember such things in the midst of all your pressing business

and overwhelming sorrow. Your generous gift will be much appreciated, and I am sure will do my father and mother a great deal of good, and your kind thought of us will be an equally great comfort.
