Dear Sister:-
I enclose herewith letter received this day from M.Camerino, of Salviati & Co., dated Venice, Dec.4th, also lead pencil drawing of Masaic work. You will note what he says regarding the lettering. I am forwarding this to you so you may communicate with Mr.Camerino.
Jennie came to our home on Saturday afternoon from the Convent and will remain until after New Years.
Yesterday(Sunday) in looking through the Church, accompanied by Mr McGilvray and Mr.Hodges, I requested Mr.Hodges to call Mr.Day's attention to the cement flooring that is now being put in the church, as I am under the impression that the floor should be strengthened if not it is liable to draw and spoil the tiles that are about to be laid by Mr.Giletti. Mr.Hodges informed me yesterday that he mailed you some of the plans mentioned in your letter from Chicago, and the balance would go forward in a few days.
The weather at Palo Alto yesterday was delightful but today it looks as though we might have rain in a day or so, as it was quite cloudy this morning. The place looks deserted, as the students have mostly gone home for the holiday vacation; very few being left on the Campus.
The Encina Hall Club are making arrangments to open the Inn on the first of the year. I hope they will be successful and the young men are confident they will be able to manage it successfully.
