This note is reference to a Toast given by Gen Sherman at a dinner which Mr & Mrs Stanford attended at the White House during President Harrison tenure 1890 May - May 15th 1890

Persons of wealth requires such refined, cultured assistants, and often fail to find them.

Should you require anyone, I can cheerfully recommend Miss Minkler, who would be invaluable to you if once you became aquainted.

While she is lately from the East, still there are sufficient references in Los Angeles among its musical circles. Miss Minkler is a member of the Treble Clef, and the Arar Club, two prominent musical societies in Los Angeles, the Presidents of which will gladly satisfy you as to her social and moral standing.
