My dear Mrs Stanford.

I sent you last week,
the 50 copies of the memorial addresses on the
life and character of the dear Governor, which were
by law, specially bound for you. I had them care-
fully packed, in two sacks, and enveloped so that you
can open each easily, and write what you may
desire on the title pages when you distribute them.
There were franks sent so that you can send
through the mails, officially, should you desire.

This act closes my
official connection, with the dear Governor, and though
it pains me to write the word closes, I am glad
to have been able to perform the duties I
had to do, in placing this Memorial volume
on the records of this government. It also closes my
