under such favorable auspices, I want you to meet my husband. I know he is the sort of man you would approve. And I want to see you again before I go so far away, and receive a kiss as a sort of benediction.

E. Leib Wright to Mrs. Stanford Oct 17- 1901

My dear Mrs. Stanford,

I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciated the evidence of your loving heart that reached me a few days before my marraige. The silver is perfectly exquisite, and handsome beyond compare, and the tender thought which prompted the gift will make it always my most cherished possession.

I was so disappointed that you could not be at my wedding. It was very pretty, and we were all very happy. I think you would have liked to see our little boat launched.
