you considered it necessary to have a young man, one that is progressive in the work-shop, but not at the expense of sending Mr. Soule away. I wish Mr. Soule retained from the fact that he is practical in every sense of the word, and this must never be lost sight of. He is earnest, always at his post with his work apron

on, not so superior as to simply give orders and play the part of a gentleman and not the workman. Take great care that no such man as I have described ever gets into that workshop.
