Hotel Meurice 228 Rue de Rivoli Paris

Oct. 10. 1900.

Dr. D.S. Jordan. Dear friend.

Your letter dated Sept 24th in regard to "Parlimentary Papers 1805-1879" which are for sale, and which Professor Howard has so highly recommended, and which can be bought for Fifteen Hundred Dollars ($1500.00) I have cabled that you can secure them. I did not feel like taking the responsibility of ordering the books myself because you should have a list of them and know you receive them all before they are paid for. I will instruct my Brother to pay for these books on their arrival at the University. I enclose to my Brother the letters you sent me in relation to the "Parlimentary Papers" also those from the "Boston Book Co."

Trusting that you are all well, I am Your friend, Jane L. Stanford

P.S. I will not feel justified in spending any more for Books this year. J.L.S.
