TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

NOTICE is hereby given by the Board of Trustees of the
Leland Stanford Junior University, the owner of the property
hereinafter described, THAT all the Shelving in the
Basement of the Science Building
at the Leland Stanford Junior University, the contract for
doing which was heretofore let to E. A. Hettinger,
and which contract was filed for record
in the Recorder's Office of the County of Santa Clara, State of
California, on the 28th day of April 1903, and
which building is situated on the property herein des-
cribed, was actually completed on the 15th day of
October 1903, and accepted by the undersigned on said day.

That Jane Lathrop Stanford, as Surviving Founder of the
Leland Stanford Junior University and the undersigned as Owner
entered into the above mentioned contract and caused the same
to be carried out; that the title of the undersigned to said
property is that of Owner in fee simple, and that the said Jane
Lathrop Stanford has heretofore resigned and relinquished her

CHARLES G. LATHROP, being duly sworn, says that he is one of the Board of
Trustees of the Leland Stanford Junior University, also the Treasurer and
Manager for said Board of Trustees of the Leland Stanford Junior University,
owner of the property described in and referred to in the foregoing notice;
that he has read said notice, and known the contents thereof, and that the
same is true of his own knowledge; that he makes this affidavit on behalf
of such Owner.
