The Australian Museum,

Sydney May 4th 1905.

Sir,

I am directed by the Trustees of the Australian Museum to convey to you and the Senate of the Leland Stanford University their sincere sympathy in the loss sustained through the untimely death of the late Mrs. Leland Stanford.

The Trustees desire me also to take this opportunity of expressing their congratulations at the successful establishment and the progress of the Leland Stanford University, and their hope that the exchange relationship so happily begun with this Museum may continue and result in mutual benefit.
