To prevent cracking of plaster, the walls of museum have to be furred before plastering.

Foundation should go down deeper.

Ventilator flues should be lined.

Brick cemented on the outside.

Lowest Proposal - for both wings of museum [if, is] from Peacock & Butcher for $47,800.

This includes everything complete except electric wiring and the architect's summaries

Gentlemen:

The undersigned proposes to furnish all materials and perform all labor mentioned under the specifications for All work for a building to be erected for Mrs Jane L Stanford owner, in accordance with the plans and specifications prepared by you for the sum of $47,800

Mrs. Jane L. Stanford,

Dear Madam: -

We send with this set of blue prints and specifications of the proprosed westerly wing of the Museum together with the proposal of Peacock & Butcher for building on or both wings.

We also confirm the verbal agreement made by Mr. Percy; Namely: that we will make all plans specifications, details, etc., for the Museum extension and superintend the work on the same for four (4) percent on the cost:

Also, that we will make all plans, specifications and details for additional buildings for the University and serve as consulting architects for three (3) per cent on the cost of the work so executed. It being understood that Mr. Hodges or some other capable man shall serve as a local superintendent of the same.
