I make no provison for my husband's brothers, Phillip Stanford or Thomas Welton Stanford, or his niece's or nephew's or the children of my brother Charles Gardner Lathrop, for the reason that my dear husband provided generously for them in his will.

I give and bequeath to Herbert C. Nash, the devoted Tutor and loving friend of my dear son, also faithful Secretary of my dear husband the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000) in gold coin.

I give and bequeath to Miss Bertha Berner, Secretary and devoted friend to me through fifteen years of trial and sorrow the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars $10,000) in gold coin.

To the following faithful and devoted servants, Mrs Charles Robertson, housekeeper for twelve years; to Charles Wooster coachman for thirty five years; to Edward Largley,

Valet to my husband for twelve years; to John Kelly, gardner and care taker of our house in Sacramento, Cal. cor 8th and N streets for thirty-nine years; to Ah Wing, servant for eighteen years, to each and every one I give and bequeath the sum of one Thousand Dollars each ($1,000) in gold coin.

I give and bequeath to the Roman Catholic Bishop of Sacramento California, a corporation sole, and to be by him just under the management, care and control of a community of nuns to be selected by him, our dear old home corner 8th and N. Streets Sacramento, California, with all its contents therein, all the grounds surrounding it and outbuildings, and by them to be appropriated to the care and a home for poor destitute children from the age of six weeks to eight years; orphans half orphans foundlings of both sex independent of color or religious creed, to be clothed, fed, taught by them and at the age of eight

years placed in a Catholic Orphan Asylum or Protestant if so desired by them. I desire the Home to be called "Memorial Home to the Memory of Father and Mother Stanford. Father and Mother Lathrop."

I also bequeath to such Roman Catholic Bishop for the maintainance of this Home and the benefit of the children under the care of the community of nuns so to be selected by him, land, bonds or gold coin, as my executors may decree most advisable, to the amount of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000) the interest and income therefrom only to be used. The fund to be called "The Stanford Memorial Fund" to be perpetuated forever in the future. I recommend that such fund of Fifty Thousand Dollars be intrusted to the Union Trust Company of San Francisco, in trust, to be by it kept in the most productive form, and the interest and revenues to be paid over to said Bishop for the purpose

terminate with the lives of the respective beneficiaries thereof, and upon the termination of each of the said trusts, the principle sum or amount thereof shall become and be a part of the rest and residue of my estate as hereinafter disposed of, and pass under the residuary clause thereof. I give and devise to my friend Mrs James Covert of Albany New York, the house which she is now occupying being No 292, in State Street, Albany, with the grounds upon which it is situated; to have and to hold to her for and during the term of her natural life. After her death the said house and grounds are to be part of the rest and residue of my estate as hereinafter disposed of and to pass under the residuary clause hereof.

All my wardrobe, furs, cloaks, wraps, and other articles of apparel, bed and table linen, lace table-cloths, lace bed spreads, lace pillow-slips, all toilet articles of my own my dear husbands and son's Leland Stanford Junior, to be distributed by my brother Charles Gardner Lathrop according to his best judgement between himself his daughter Jennie Stanford Lathrop.

The wardrobe of my dear son Leland Stanford Junior and my husband I desire my brother Charles G. Lathrop to dispose of according to
