D. one thousand eight hundred and seventy three before me [H W Starr?] a Justice of the Peace in and for said Placer County, personally appeared the within named M C Winchester whose name is subscribed to the annexed instrument, as a party thereto, personally known to me to be the individual described in and who executed the said annexed Instrument, and he has duly acknowledged to me that he executed the same freely and voluntarily, and for the uses and purposes therein mentioned.
