Whereas, The recent election of C.P. Huntington to the Presidency of this Company affords a fitting occasion for the expression of our appreciation of the services of the predecessor in that office;

Therefore Resolved: That we hereby tender to the

Hon. Leland Stanford

our thanks for the uniform courtesy which he has displayed in the conduct of the office he has filled and for the integrity and ability with which he has directed the affairs of this company; and while we welcome his successor to the office which he now fills we tender to our former PResident out hearty wishes that he may realize the prosperity and happiness which are the fitting toward of a long life of earnest activity and high purpose.

I G.L. Lansing Secretary of the Southern Pacific Company do hereby certify that the foregoing is a full true and correct copy of a Resolution adopted by the Board of Directors of said Company at a regular meeting thereof held in the office of the Company on the Seventeenth day of April A.D. 1890 as appears by the records of the proceedings of the Board of Directors of said Company in my custody as said, Secretary.

In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the Coroporate Seal of said Southern Pacific Company this Seventheeth day of April A.D. 1890

Second: That C.P. Huntington be elected President for the ensuing year.

Third: That an executive Committee be appointed by the Board to [courist?] of the following Directors Leland Stanford. C.P. Hunntington Chas. F. Crocker and Thos. H. Hubbard with Leland Stanford Chairman thereof.

Fourth: That the papers in possession of C.P. Huntington in reference to the largest matters be either destroyed or delivered sealed to the undersigned to be disposed

Fifth.

That all the parties owning or representing interests in the property of the Pacific Improvement Company shall in good faith refrain from hostile or injurious expressions concerning each other and shall in good faith co-operate for the election of Leland Stanford as Senator to the next term of the U.S. Senate.
