my views upon these subjects. My words,
and especially the phrase which relates to
campaign uses of company's funds, or, as
I expressed it, "putting hands into the Treasury
of the Company to defeat the people's
choice" have been construed in some quarters
as a personal attack on you. Allow
me to say that I greatly regret this impression
since I did not intend to
make such attack or to charge that
you had used the company's money to
advance your personal interests or in
any improper manner, and I am satisfied
that you have not done so. Allow me

as they have been heretofore.

Yours very truly,
C. P. Huntington
