Sac Nov 9 1868 1 Stanford Salt Lake Too late in my judgement to organize [serapus?] west of Humboldt Wells, will get it graded and [track?] laid before could get [scrapus?] horses and men on the ground, push the grading from the East to meet us at Humboldt Wells. I will send provisions then via the Canon. Cannot you get [Barley?] from Ruby Valley try [and?] let me know also flour. C. Crocker
