Dear Sir:
Last spring you was kind enough to inform me some particulars regarding the Stanford University. You then wrote me that the institution would not be opened before this fall, but was unable to state what [chairss?] would first be organized.
I write now to enquire if any definite action has yet been taken regarding the offering of the institution. What officers have yet been chosen? What [chairs?] will be organized first? When does the [seliore?] begin its first session? Is the Board yet ready to receive applications for professorship?
