Dear Sir,
Desiring some information in regard to the University which you have founded in California, I address you this letter for that purpose.
Over two years ago I left my home in California and came East for the purpose of securing [an?] education. The first year that I was here I spent in making preparation to enter the Rose Polytechnic. On the 23rd of this month I shall have completed the studies of the Freshman year. When I came here I expected to finish my course here but I was unable to obtain the necessary money to do this, consequently I shall have to remain out of school next year.
