Having made of Sanskrit Philology and the Living Oriental Languages, besides German and French, a specialty, it is the desire of the undersigned to secure for him a similar position in your University, and establish him permanently in California.
The extreme sensitiveness and modesty of Professor Roehrig, prevents him from offering himself as a Candiate by direct application and his friends take this method of presenting his name, trusting that it will receive the attention it merits.
