for the numbers of years that I have devoted to the practical mechanical industries I have been engaged in for the past 40 years of my life in that direction I suppose you have many applicants for the different departments as instructors but of course you will select from them the ones that in your [judgement?] will be the most competent for the different occupations as I have devoted 40 years of my life to the mechanical industries [practically?]. I might fill that position as well as any one in that department. It would I assure you be the delight of the remaining years of my life to assist you in that department I have kept pace with the most useful appliances of modern constructed machinery for the uses you will require in your mechanical department for the construction of such implements as you choose to manufacture. My experience of working and instructing men and boys has been unbroken for nearly forty years of my practical mechanical life hence I feel fully qualified in the practical part to fill the requirement in that direction. I have given special attention to steam power and to the practical working of machinery and its adaptability to mechanical purposes and for the suitable tools and wood and iron for such purposes not wishing to burden you with a lengthy communication. If you can favor me with an interview at your convenience you will very much oblige Your most obedient E [Souler?]
