Mr. H.C. Nash
Sec'ty Board of Trustees
Leland Stanford Jr. University

Dr Sir,

I [received?] your letter of March 25 in answer to mine to Senator Stanford relative to a cabinet of [?] [and?] crystals from the Comstock [?]
I judge from tenor of your letter that it may be some time before you will be prepared to inspect [prior?] to purchase of this collection. My object in disposing of them [some?] is to avoid packing and unpacking the specimens which is quite a task and I wish to sell them while in the cabinet and on shelves. I expect to move and would have to pack them in boxes and then they could not be examined. As for the payment for the same at an agreed price it could be deferred until in place at the University. What I request of you is to have them inspected and if satisfactory take them away and pay for them at your convenience. If you could personally inspect these specimens I would be pleased to show them to you at any hour you may appoint.
Yours [Respectfully?]
A.B. Thompson
