Fully appreciating at its highest value a complete scientific and classic education, I am fully impressed with the idea that for our own people, who are to build up California in the future, and education should be made practical rather than theoretical. The California farmer, fruit grower, [virtner?], mechanic or merchant will form his own theories rather than take them second hand.
Therefore, I would suggest that the museum be industrial in character and as fully practical as possible in the lessons that it teaches.
It should be divided into Departments or Sections to agree with different industries at home and abroad should be shown.
As an example, Viticulture in California should be fully represented by samples, photographs, charts, models etc, all arranged in logical order. Thus at a
