My Dear Jennie

Your letter of the
28th with enclosure received
Our friends letter is sensible talk
from his stand point, But I
could not go away with good
excuses as I could not leave
things here in such conditions
as to have the [?] [rest?]
[resident?] So I have resolved
on a careful system of [listening?]
and exercise and to stay away
from the office as much as
possible. I hope to close up [business?]
at the office so as to leave Tuesday
night to join you at [?]
