My Dear Jennie
Your letter of the 28th with enclosure received Our friends letter is sensible talk from his stand point, But I could not go away with good excuses as I could not leave things here in such conditions as to have the [?] [rest?] [resident?] So I have resolved on a careful system of [listening?] and exercise and to stay away from the office as much as possible. I hope to close up [business?] at the office so as to leave Tuesday night to join you at [?]

These two days of quiet has had a good effect. I have some annoyance from a [stich?] in my left breast I find it hard to deny myself this fruit. I partake in the morning but I rather think I shall discontinue it even at that time. The mornings here are lovely and I enjoy the morning walks. I miss you here very much. I frequently find myself ready to start to go and find you. Your absence is the only drawback to this place. The dormitory is progressing so as to make quite a [?] above the basement I think I shall soon give orders for [?] stove for the dormitory for the girls.
