Dear Brother

It is with no inconsiderable degree of pleasure that I find myself prepared to write a letter to you. It is so long since I wrote you I feel that if it were delayed much longer there might be room for complaint. It is Saturday to day the day that I generally do up my writing. I have just finished a letter to former students of this place which should have been done some three or four weeks since at least. So that you will perceive that you are not the only one who has had to wait too long for an answer. I am behind one composition a calamity where one had to read his own in the presence of the Gentleman and some 30 or 40 ladies, for we generally like to take some pains in getting them up adn I shall but little time for the ensuing one.

I enjoy myself now pretty well my standing in the school now is about what I wish it to be. The teachers all seem to be pretty friendly and from what I learn speak well of me especially the Preceptress who is my friend.

She told a friend of mine the other day who was to be a member of the school that Mr Stanford occupied a position in the school thta was truly enviable.
