This Indenture, made the
Second day of October eight hundred
and seventy six, witnesseth that
Leland Stanford party of the first
part do hereby lease demise and
let unto John Monahan party of the
second part, the following described
property, in San Mateo County, State
of California to wit:

All that tract or parcel of land purchased
by the party of the first part
from Richard Tobin, and being part
of what was known as Lot No 12 Tobin
Tract, being bounded on the North
by the lands of John Monahan, on the
South by the lands of S. M. Meyes, on
the east by the Center of the San
Francisquito Creek, and on the West
by the Santa Cruz County Road

Containing 1 98/100 acres

To hold by the party of the second
part from the second day of October
1876, to such time or date as the party
of the first part may determine.

Building and paying therefor at
the rate of One dollar per annum, and
also giving also to the party of the
first part permission to build and
