Have first returned from mouth of Echo. There I met Durant. But nothing came of it of sufficient importance to relate here. Short time I have for this letter if it is to go by to nights mail. The U Pacific track is within (80) eighty miles of mouth of Echo. They say they have the ties bidded almost the entire distance. They will put in five (5) miles temporary track at the summit, and temporary at the tunnels on Weber.
