rose leaves. We saw
two other beautiful palaces
but it would take a
month to tell you all
about them so I will
wait till I get home.
At Athens we
had a very nice
time meeting Mr & Mrs
Schuyler, General Beale's
daughter and Dr
Schlieman and his
wife. I bought a good
many antiquities
for my museum and
papa gave me 4000
francs for its support.
We saw lots of beautiful
and wonderful things in
Greece and enjoyed our
stay very much.
We had a very smooth
passage from Corinth
to Brindisi and I arrived
at Naples without having
been sick from
Varna to here.
Papa is pretty
well except for his
stiffness and does a great
deal in the way of sight
seeing. Mama and
myself are not well
just for the present
because we have been
going it too hard
