Dear Mother and Daddy,

Here I am, sitting again at the table behind the stacks at the education library, hoping that I'm beginning the quarter right by studying hard. I really feel rather guilty not having written sooner , but when I got back to school, things came to me in such a rush that I didn't have time to do anything. Needless to say I had the most wonderful time in the world at Yosemite. I really don't think that I have ever had so much fun. Jane, Ruth, Sally, and I all got along so well together, and we all though it was just about the most wonderful thing we had ever done. There just isn't anything as much fun as skiing and after three days

we got so that we only had to fall down three or four times a run. That is that's what it was for me, it must have been less for the others. Now we feel like very weathered skiiers and we certainly hated to leave, and another wonderful thing about it was that it really didn't cost us very much. Our room for the four nights cost us five dollars and we never spent more than two dollars a day for food. It was also very cheap to rent skis. I think the whole trip cost us something under twenty dollars. I also finally got to see enough snow. It started snowing Thursday evening and didn't stop until Saturday afternoon. It never snowed very hard when we were skiing except once and then we went right in. Whe the snow finally did

stop and the sun came out, well you have never seen such a beautiful scene. I didn't buy anything except some waterproof mittens which you wear over your regular mittens and some ski wax. Kay's pant's worked out fine although smoe how I feel they didn't look too attractive. But I was having such a wonderful time that I didn't think about it at all. We all just about died when we left, especially since the day was just perfect for skiing; so we figured it all out, and we find that if we keep within moderation we could go up for a weekend for about seven dollars; so we made reservations for three weekends, twice in February and once in March. I want to go twice of those times any-

way. I forgot to mention that we also went to a little dance at the Camp Curry on Saturday night. We weren't really planning to go, because none of us felt like walking into a place like that without an escort. But a boy from Dartmouth and one from Cal. came over and asked us to go. They seemed very nice; so we said that we would meet them over there. I danced with the boy from Dartmouth but we didn't seem to get along too well; so I didn't stay with him too long. I danced with about six boys, but spent most of the evening with a little sailor from Minnesota because he was by far nicer than any I had met. They played the [schottische?] and the polka, and we got along very well doing them together and it was so much fun.

Two of the people I danced with were rather old. One was at least forty and the other was an air corps lieutenant who was shorter than I, very fat, and with a little mustache. Believe me he was charming. I got rid of them both as quickly a possible.

We started home on Sunday at about twelve thirty and arrived at Jane's at about six. We had to stop at Jane's because she has a sun lamp. Whenever you go skiing people expect you to come back with a sun burn; since it was snowing practically the whole time, naturally we couldn't get a sun burn. So we each stayed under Jane's sun lamp about five minutes. I worked quite well, and some people
