Dear Mother and Daddy,
Well the big news came, Sally announced her engagement to Willie today, and I wasn't there, I could have died I was so mad when I found out. They told me there was going to be a little party this afternoon for Sally's birthday - a couple of people they said - hum. Johnny had asked me to go to Santa Cruz because there were some interesting places to take pictures of, and so I didn't say anything about it to him but just thought that if we were back in time we would drop in. Which of course we didn't - did my face fall when I found out about it - what a dissapointment. The announcement will be in the paper tomorrow - February 18 - so will you please cut every

thing out about it you can find and send it to me. if you should happen to go shopping any time, I wish you would look for a cup and saucer for an engagement present. There isn't any place around here to get one except San Fransisco.
I had a very nice time last night at the Kappa formal. I wore my green dress and scotch taped a red rose to my neck. I got lots of compliments on it; anyway it was different.
Please don't forget the clippings and I'm still hoping to see you next weekend.
