Dear Mother and Daddy,

I'm awfully sorry that you have been rather displeased with me, but I really haven't been going around as much as you seem to think. I've only really gone out twice on a school night, once with Bob to see Harvey, and for an hour and a half with another boy. I forgot, I also went to an engagement party but that just lasted from eight-thirty until ten-thirty. John Fulton had come over almost every day until last Tuesday, but he never stayed longer than fifteen minutes at a time, except I went to the library with him a couple of times, and I had to study then. weekend, there were only about four girls including Ruth and myself stayed here, everyone else went away somewhere for the weekend. But we just stayed here and did our regular things. I hope you don't think that I have just turned into a play girl, because really I haven't. I didn't do anythink last weekend until Saturday afternoon; I studied psychology all morning. Bob cme down earlier than he expected to on Saturday; so we played two sets of tennis. Of course he beat me quite badly, as I had expected, but we did have a couple of good rallys; so I hope he didn't think I'd never played before. We had dinner with Kay and Bill and then drove up to San Fransisco to the symphony. Marion Anderson was really very remarkable. She sang some

beautiful German songs. I felt quite good because I was able to follow the German fairly well, that is the German that was written in the program. There werelots of people there that we knew. It seems that the symphony is the regular meeting place for med. students on Saturday night. Incidentally if you would like to see a very true and typical picture of med. students, see the movies "Miss Susie Slagles." It's about this woman who boards med. students. It's just a hysterical movie, I know you would enjoy it. After the symphony we spent a little time at the A.K.K. house where they were having a little party, but we didn't stay long. I also saw Bob for a

little time on Sunday. I had a lovely time with him, and enjoyed seeing him very much.

I'm still sorry you couldn't come up this weekend, but the weather wasn't at all nice except on Saturday and since you weren't feeling very well, you probably wouldn't have enjoyed it very much. Also, no one was here this weekend and I'd like you to see the campus when everything is going on. I'm still hoping you will be able to make it up another weekend soon.

Love to all, Mary
