Dear Mother and Daddy,

The red suit arrived today and I was so very pleased to get it. It was much prettier than I remembered it. All the girls thought it was so pretty; I immediately took it to be pressed. I hope I can wear it soon.

It was so nice of you to ask Ruth to spend this vacation with me. I [told?] her that you had asked her again and she was so pleased. She asked me to tell you how much she appreciated your asking her. This time I think that she probably will come. Sally Teachout has also been after her for a long time to come down and stay with her, so I think she will

probably come and spend part of the time with me and part of the time with her. It was awfully nice of you to mention it. I think Jane is going to come down and stay with Sally. Nothing more has been said about going to Canada, as I really expected would happen; so you don't need to worry. But I certainly appreciate you saying that I could go.

The situation about the D.G. house is looking more favorable all the time. For a while we were very worried that all the vacancies were going to some horrible old seniors in this class, but it was fixed up so that only Sophomores could get in since there are only four Sophomores in their house. only about nine other sophomores in this house, and of course they may also want to get in that house too, but we will just have to take the chance that we will get a lower number than they do. I certainly hope so because we have wanted to get in for so long, and none of the other girls here know the D.G.s like we do. I'm afraid that if we don't get in now we never will.

I got a B on my Political Science test; Iknew I had done all right. Ruth and Sally Teachout both got D's and Kay got a C-. The only reason that I'm citing their grades is that I want you to realize that I am

not wasting my time. I also feel quite sure that I also did better on my psychology test. I feel a little more secure about my grades now. I feel almostsure I can get a B in both Political Science and German; however I feel that Psychology is quite a different matter. I'm awfully glad I took psychology though because it is very interesting and I feel I'm getting a lot out of it; although it definitely is not a good grade. I've hardly seen John Fulton since he has come back, although he has been here three times; I've not talked to him for more than five minutes. This Friday I have a date with a boy named Carl Burk, this Saturday Kent Fuller, and next Saturday a boy named Andy [Schotky?].

I must go practice now.

Love to all, Mary
