Dear Mother and Daddy,

Nothing much has happened since I wrote you last. I have been tied down pretty much to studying, and have done little else than keep my nose in a book, except yesterday. Bob came down yesterday afternoon and I went to the boathouse with him for about two hours. Then I came back and we went to the symphony. The symphony was really the most enjoyable I've heard in a long time. They had an excellent pianist who played a Liszt concerto, and it was very interesting because in the concerto there were several condenzas that were just the same as in my Rigeletto piece. Of course the concerto was much harder and more brilliant, but I was very thrilled to hear something I had tried to learn by a famous artist. I'm glad that I have had the opportunity

to go to so many because I am beginning to be able to tell the styles of some of the different composers now.

I have Ruth's and my tickets home but there is this boy Wade [Hover?] who is going to drive Ruth back and me if you will let me. Wade is a boy that Ruth has known for a long time, he is the son of one of her mother's best friends, and a very reliable boy. He looks rather like Junior. It would be much nicer to drive back with him than go on the train by myself. He would be bringing only Ruth and myself back.

I have definitely decided to have my dinner on Monday. I have it arranged so that it will be a surprise party and Ruth knows nothing of the plans. I have it arranged with Kay to keep he out all day Monday; then I shall be able to stay home and keep [get it?] ready. I will be asking eight girls. I will write again before I leave for home. Love to all, Mary
