Dear Mother and Daddy,

It was so nice to hear about the tea. I never heard of so many things happening, but I'm sure it was a great success. I had been wondering how it came out. I can see you must have had a rather hectic time of it.

I'm glad my laundry box came. I would like to have you send it back if you can so that I can send some more things home in it. I made reservations home for the 12th of June on the noon Daylight. Will that get me home in time for Margie's graduation. I could drive home with Mary Ellen and her father, but then I'd have to wait until Saturday, and that would be

late. I'd like to get everything home without having to bring my trunk which I'd like to leave here to store things in for the summer.

I got an English paper back this week that I had written on Carlyle and Newman. I got a B on it and was rather pleased because I did. We also had another English test and I don't think I did badly on it, although you can never tell. twenty numbers. And then some professors got up and sang. They sang some very pretty songs and some very funny ones. They really got them selves laughed at. We sang "Wanting You" and came in second, which pleased us very much because every one was so good, and besides right in the middle of our number the torch behind us fell down and distracted us because every one began to laugh. Bob came down for it, and met me afterwards, and we went to an open house across the street where we spent most of the evening playing bridge. He also came down yesterday afternoon and we did some errands in Palo Alto and then we went to dinner and to Junior Prom. I wore my black formal and he gave

me a very beautiful orchid. However things havn't been going too pleasantly between us, and naturally it's all my fault. I hope that I shall be able to fix things up a little. It's too bad I don't have the socks finished so I can give them to him. I feel sure though that every thing will turn out well.

Love to all, Mary -
