I have just finished my report on the reorganization of the government and I really feel as though the weight of the world has been lifted from my shoulders. I don't think I have ever had so much work at once as I did this week. This paper and three accounting problems, one of which was then pages long. It was almost worse than any finals week, and I certainly don't know what I would have done if I had come home last week-end. Of course I now don't know my accounting very-well, and another test is coming up next Tuesday, also I have got behind in my reading in Business Law, and I have another test due in that; so I guess I shall have another hard week of studying ahead.
Peter boyes came over for

a few minutes tonight. I nearly dropped my teeth when I saw him, for he was the last person in the world I expected to see. He has been given a commission as captain in the the Air Corps which was what he was after; so now he won't have to go through West Point to get it. He is home for a couple of months.
If you don't mind I wish you would send me my fur jacket because week-end after next is the Big Game week-end and of course there will be a big party that night to which I will have to wear either my formal or a very dressy short dress. I shall send Ruth's measurements as soon as I can, but at this moment she has on the skirt I want to measure; so I couldn't do it very discretely. I shall mail them in a couple of days.

Dear Mother,
I am sending a sample of the green I would like to have matched for Ruth's shirt. I would like to make the skirt like the light blue one I made for myself with the torso part and the pleats. It takes three lengths of the skirt part to make it, and I measured that out to be about 26" so that three times that would make it two and one sixth yards. I figured this out carefully, and I think that would be about right. I certainly appreciate you doing this for me, but if it proves to be too difficult please don't kill yourself getting it, and I shall figure out something when I get home.

But I do want very much to do this for Ruth, and I think I could make this pleated kind and be quite sure that it will fit. I have also taken the waist and hip measurements, but I won't need to send you that.
