2 9-26-67 2325 DTA5: appears to give read errors I used merge to copy a file from DTA5: and it terminated on two successive occations with "Imput error"; I then put the tape on DTA3: and won SOB

2010 27 Sep 67 Took disk off self - test . No errors.

2030 27 Sep 67 Ran bare machine diagnostic ground problem appears solved. spikes are now 100 mv. Got one READ error. Tired again. Wouldn't repeat. SRR

2015 27 Sep tested DP PI's both keyboards seem to work & DP

3 2245 27 Sep 67 started testing disk again with Santer's Bare Machine Diagnostic.

2300 167 seems to have spread data over lower core on read - deck 167 Looks innocent: JB DN CHC 3 MC WR

Perhaps it went well on am eariler transfer.

2312 Get Read erros on TEST 7: Errors. Dutch Ludt checked timing in Disk found timing OK

2350 Restarted test 7. Ran OK 2356 Got another program wipe - out 167 JB DN CHC 3 MC WR WC=O MA = 123123

This is correct for end of of transfer in progress

28 Sep 67 0005 Restarted test 7 got readd error Band 142 DDT was wiped out

0012 Tried again Same trouble giving up for night SRR

4 28 Sep 67. 0300 hr

Getting not so random errors - am pretty certain it's not in my programs. Eg the following is a typical example. First such arror accurred about 1.30 am. The first example (unchanged) used to run before then (see underneath)

5 28 Sep 67 1600 Pot reding are hydraulic arm change radically when switches an arm control box are flipped to (or from) computer ( or manual ) control. MEK

1) Fixed (?) am addressing bag in 167 Data from disk or camera for cores @, 1 , & 2 were being misplaced. Fix was shaking BC5 RIGHT MB connector in core 3 (!). If trouble recurs whole connector and 1665 should be examined.

2) Found that when disk was in test mode, TV camera wouldn't work. Trouble was 167 responding to librascope clock pulses. These pulses
