Dear Daddy,
This would have gotten mailed sooner, but I've been carrying it around to put a letter in it. Congratulations on undertaking that long-planned re-tailoring at last. Mother said the went in & modernized the old job as well as doing the current work. Are you sporting an ivy-league corporation now? Can hardly wait to see your racey new front.
On that last idea, we got a note from Joan & Vince, saying they'd be up in Del Monte Forest during the first half of March, that you planned to join them for a couple of days. On their invitation, we're planning to join you for a day at least. Will you be there a little longer this time. If you have a definite date for being there, we will plan accordingly. Get your corporation in shape so Pooh can sit on it, an important part of the

Grandfather game.
Last week, Pooh brought home a nice juicy cold from the babysitter. By the beginning of the weekend she had given it to us, so we're all going the Kleenex - asprin - & Mentholatum route together. It's the first one of the season, though, thanks to the Vitamin C. Thank mother for the second bottle. It came just in time. We're on triple dosage at the present time. The flu I had doesn't count. That was just a "virile bacteria," not a cold.
Weekend before last, we successfully removed another hunk of wall, step II to our entrance hall - to walk-in closet plan. We are a little too well ventilated right now, but we ran out of time, energy & sheet-rock. We're putting a brick wall where the front door used to be, so I've got some books including the Masons' & Builders' Guide. Brick walls have new significance.
Again, congratulations on the completion of the long contemplated surgery. We're looking forward to seeing you & Mother at Monterey
