hall and put in the tub. Some of
the freshmen put up a good fight
and a few broke away and ran.
They were all recaptured and in
addition to being tubbed had their
faces painted. One freshman was
about to do as he was commanded
when I said:

"Show a little class spirit.
Kick over the can; let them tub
you, but don't paint."

"Aren't you ashamed of your-
self Blake? You are an upper-class
man giving this poor innocent boy
such bad advice. I am surprised!"

I laughed and watched the
