Perhaps I had better begin by introducing myself as the mother of Richard whom you know quite well by now. A girl's parents usually have the opportunity of knowing her friends but all boys families aren't so fortunate as we have been in becoming acquainted with Louise

Her little visits have meant more to us than we can tell & each time we think what a luck boy Richard is

We appreciate the ordeal it has been for her to meet the family but hope we haven't made it too hard for her

Louise is everything to be desired & certainty R. is to be congratulated on his good taste & his good fortune. Our earnest desire is that they may always be as happy as they are now.

I hope we may have the pleasure before long of meeting Louise family & anytime you will be in the south please let us know & if possible arrange at least to stay over night with us.
