Good Morning Darling,

It's now 8 am and I'm lying in bed feeling wonderfully refreshed after
a good night's sleep and it seems a perfect time to write you. It is beautifully
outside too. I can hear the steady chrip of birds the distant roar of a stream the occasional passing of a train and otherwise silence, that spacious peaceful
silence of the mountains! My window looks out on a large meadow- grass (now
in winter yellow + brown) with patches of unmelted snow. From the edges of the
meadow rise easily sloping hills covered with big mark green pines standing
tall and straight in the gray brightness of easily morning with light clouds overheard.
The air which is welcomed in my open window is just cool. (I have nothing on above
the wrist and it feels cool and and invigorating to stand and look out the window), not
cold and is of course mountain fresh.

We arrived here in Titisee at 5:50 pm yesterday. The terrain here is less
rugged than at Fubug where the river cut deep gorges; there are many
open meadows and the hills at rolling. But the pines are thick and tall and it
is cool or high enough that much snow remains so it really is mountains county
and the town is little more little more than a group of resort hotels etc., lying around
the end of the lake (Titisee). Reminds me a little of Tahoe with all the
ski-lodge type hotels but it is off season and so not so commercialized and
also there is much open land even between houses (which are often 100-300
yards apart) so that there isn't the crowded feeling that Tahoe has. The lake
is about the size fo Fallen lead (named conger perhaps) and last night was
covered by a think layer of ice. We're going to be walking around this morning
probably follow the north shore of the lake an maybe up a hill or tow for a view
of the county. Well my dearest love I''ve got to get dressed and packed so this will be continued later. Just wanted to kiss you good morning and start the day
off right. I LOVE YOU!! Much!!- Say today's that big day which comes
only once every four years: Leap Day. I accept whatever proposition you've
made sight unseen (to be in mailbox soon) and if you didn't make one I have
for years to ask you instead! I love you. I love you. I love you!

Goshes- I got fooled and had no chance to finish this yesterday as I
had expected. So I'll be sure to do it this morning and mail it early so I don't
miss 2 day morning I wonder if it get slowed down because I send it form
a smaller town than Stuttgart. I guess my mail must reach you pretty
irregularly but it evens out sooner or later nicht wahr? And besides I send
you my love every day by direct line letter or not. Close your eyes and catch
a kiss!

Titisee was really quite lovely. When we arrived Sunday night we started
out to walk to the youth hostel. But the darn thing was clear at the other end
of the lake and we didn't even know where ti would be open. And since we
were starved (no food since 10 am) and thoroughly beat from walking all over Tuiberg
we started looking for someplace to eat. But soon we were out of town in the dark
and about then the hostel didn't seem worth another mile and no dinner so we
about-faced staggered back into town. We stopped a lady on the street to ask
