My darling Nannie-

Last Sunday, Theodora wrote you so I thought I would
write Wednesday, when lo and behold she did not mail hers un-
til Wednesday so I waited till to-day. I didn't mean to skip
a week and won't do it again. There is so much news that has
accumulated that I shall have to tie strings in all my fingers
not to forget anything. It will be easier to begin today and go
backwards- so first off - Yesterday I didnot go to church but
studied about an hour and slept the rest of the time. Bessie
Blossom
came over in the afternoon and made a chatty little
visit. She is such a sweet little Freshman whose name just suits
her. Saturday Theodora and I decided to go to San Jose to see
about getting something ready to wear to the Sigma Alpha Epsilon
party next Saturday night. It is to be a house warming for a
beautiful great new house in Palo Alto a reception to about 400
in the afternoon and a select dance in the evening. Theodora
and I had about accepted for the afternoon when the girls were
so persuasive that we decided for the evening. Theodora says
she is going entirely on my account - as far as that goes it did-
n't make a particle of difference when we went as long as we
went together, only the evening was to be very nice and it seemed
folly to decline when Theodora was to be here only a year and I
want her to have all the pleasure that the university offers and
if we waited till January she wouldn't be half so likely to be
invited and I did not want to establish the negative precedent
down here with her. So - to continue the topic of conversation-
we took my confection and Theodora's brocade crèpe and started
