10:15 Call for quote again. MS unchanged. DOW up 86 points. Drive out to Buena Park to see Pepsi. Pretty bland drive.

10:45 Pat gives me a good tour. Interesting how fast those cans move. Big scale of operations. 500,000 cases per week. Lots of casn shipped in Continental Can. They purify their own water. Saw the 9000 gallon tank that leaked during the Earthquake.

11:30 Drive to Newport Beach.

12:45 Call Schwab for a quote. MS 48. Drive out to park + write this up, since time driving to Greg's. Nice, warm breeze, sitting above ocean. Good place to be to feel bad ~ stock loss

- very affluent areas. Others to commiserate.

- O.C is where I studied so much about stocks

Until stock split in September the price was not much above 50, and Oct 1 price was just 60 or so. The big run up to 79 was short-lived, and then it settled back to 72 for a week before dropping to 64 on Friday, and 45.25 yes'day.

2:00 Lunch at Good Earth. Orange Roughy + rice + veg. Called for final quotes MSFT 46 1/4 all this or the day. The DOW was up 102 for the day!! Big Reversal.

3:00 At Corona Del Mar Beach bluff again. Thoughts on whether I should try to tackle trading again since I really hate missing out on these big moves. Even if I cannot predict 100% maybe I should try to act when things go to extremes relative to a reasonable trend. If I don't sell stocks when they feel high, then I can't buy when they feel low, since there's no money to do it. But I had concluded last summer that such a strategy would not produce gains exceeding the hid I'd take on taxes, selling the MSFT stock of mine that's nearly all taxable gain. And of course I couldn't sell till Oct 10 at the earliest, so my biggest take would've been $72/share, of which I could keep 70% after taxes, or $50. Clearly, this time I was not correct, since I could've gotten 50/sh A.T. and bought it back for $46. But, as always, how would I have known to wait thru Monday, instead of buying at end oat 100 pt Dow drop Friday?
