May '82 (stopped to see Chip too in San Jose.) - Lost Aaron's keys (due to coke giddiness) - disaster, left for Laguna next day (Sunday) just to get out of LA.

Aug '82 - Tired after leaving Dick + Pat's so I only touched LB briefly (Sunday)

Feb '83 - Good trip mostly to LA

July '83 - Bad (see above) in LB.

Apr '84 - Good trip to LA

July '84 - Bad trip (see above) LA + LB

Sep '84 - Bad trip...very in LA + LB

Nov '84 - OK to Palm Springs + Phoenix + S.D.

San Diego trips fine, except last one with party in Laguna Beach Aug 85

Sep '85 OK in LA.

Sep '85 Not good in LA or LB or SD.

July '86 Not bad trip, but...(see above)

Oct '86 Great quick trip to LA, (not LB).

Keys to a good time:

No drugs

Spend only a short time in LA, not West H, maybe Spike or Silverlake area

No Laguna Beach - too crowded esp summer, not enough to do

Visit LA infrequently, with things to do.

Dont try to cover too much territory

NEVER HAD A FUN TIME IN LAGUNA, BUT BRIEF DAYS LIKE TODAY + FEB '83 ARE OK.

10:00 So what next? Drive down Baker to Bristol Ave. See new Red Lion Inn. Go for it. Check in. Get settled. Shower. Nice!

11:15 Read Mane's column, finish Oct 13 PC Magazine.

7:45 Get up. Misc. Breakfast + WSJ. Legislation to limit computerized trading. Call Mom + Dad in Portland. Didn't discuss stock crash.

9:15 Finalize thoughts on Microsoft + crash. It hasn't fallen much below summer level. I can't trade for the short term profitably. For the long term, I still expect it to increase it's best to hold it.
