Started my haircut a half hour late, perhaps due to Mary Gates (?)

Had nice talk with Rick ~ Halloween. They really got started late. It's a shame with such beautiful costumes.

He said he didn't recognize my look, or me. When I smiled, he said to himself "Is Ric trying to do drag?" He said he could make me very pretty, and I said I wasn't trying to be that night, and he said I succeeded. We laughed, and I understood why my look didn't generate enthusiasim: unrecognizble + unattractive + no character.

After haircut, I got something to eat and went to Rare Coin for Eagle.

11:45 At home write up this morning. Put stuff away.

ALSO REALIZE THAT I SHOULD BE WILLING TO TAKE CONTROL WHEN TALKING WITH PEOPLE WHO LOOK UP TO ME.

Read Nov 10 PC Magazine. Good article on OS/2 kernel programming, remarking great similarities to MS-DOS programming. Also said PM prog'g would be much like programming for Windows -- difficult.

Got paycheck.

Got review from Tony. No problems. He's moving into CD-ROM div'n. Bldg 5.

Unpack box of some stuff I ordered. Leave WORD 4.0 at work. Take the rest home.

5:45 On the way home, listing to WE Donahue on Oct 9 Hotline tape, saying rates will inch upward, so be fully invested in stocks, and even did so with his Mom's Money. Just shows how wrong you can be!

6:15 At home, make + eat dinner reading MS-Press "Managing Your Money." Still yukko.
