7:15 Get up, and call Schwab for quote on MS

Asking 46. So I go ahead and sell.

After I get out of shower, good news on Budget sends price up to 46 1/2, ask.

Read WSJ, look over bluebook notes.

By 10:00 price is up to 47 1/2, asked.

Oh well...Including the negative 38 and +49.76 for 300 sh, my avg price I've gotten since crash = 48.15.

The sale today of 738 shares is so small that even if I had gotten 47.25 for MS, this increases my average price only by 1/4. Anyway, it's done.

Read WSJ, esp. minute by minute Tuesday Oct 20.

10:00 Call Schwab for Money Mkt Tax Free Yield.

It is 4.67 (and MS backed down to 47 1/4 ask)

Also call Vanguard. Their MM is 4.89%

Merrill Lynch is 4.62..So no big deal.

Decide to wait though to move Vang Bond to Schwab.

Do it in December since it's so late in Nov now.

10:15 Look over misc things to see if anything else I need to do now. Nope.

11:00 So I'm all financed for at least 6 months.

And I've still got 10% of my Microsoft stock.

Feels very good to move on now...

11:30 Go get VCR 5-yr warranty at Video Only.

Get serial number (DAMN off the back...awkward).

Fill out registrations.

Call Tracy. Microsoft 46 3/4:47 1/4.

12:30 Misc. Lunch.

Call Schwab. Microsoft final: 47 1/2:47 3/4

News of agreement on deficit reduction came out at 1:30 or so, so markets were up slightly in last 1/4 hour.

In nay case, Microsoft is under avg for week.

1:45 Misc. Mail, etc

2:15 To Microsoft.

Compute average price from list I've been keeping recently, and do so over several time spans.

All show average price close to $48.00

Resync again. tight on disks so I have to erase some Windows Apps. Do diff's on updated files...not much of interest.

Finish Oct 27 PC Mag, while making.

Write + Xerox notes to send to charities.
