Come home + reread Oct-Dec '83

Why didn't I move yet? Times when I could have moved:

In May '82 (when Cobol plan was done)

Bob showed up

Summer '82-Summer '83 were fun and interesting. Little depression except in October '82 there were 2 weeks drugged + fatigued. Realized futility of planning. GROW INTO ROLE.

In Oct '83 (when Sort was done)

- Narrowed down to SF + SD, but there was strong desire to create some original software that was personally relevant (useful) to me.

- Fun Halloween, Mt Bachelor, Flawless Hot Party, etc.

- SF + SD didn't seem as interesting then compared to Seattle after such a fun year. There were friends for me here then. And lots of recent fun memories

- Even though I bitched about salary, I realized I was getting into high risk endeavor, so I didn't get much besides 10% raise + 15% bonus. But that gave me reason to slacken and redecorate apartment, do audio/video, etc

I REALIZED THEN (OCT '83) THAT ENVIRONMENT and FRIENDS WERE TOP PRIORITY BUT SINCE I'D HAD SUCH A GOOD MANY MONTHS JUST PRIOR TO FALL '83, I PUT THOSE NEEDS BEHIND MY DESIRE TO DESIGN + CREATE FOR WINTER + SPRING '84. THEN I FELL IN LOVE WITH MAC, AND CARRIED THRU TIL NOW (GOOD)
