Rested fairly well and slept late in the morning. Ben was put on KP all day! Spat, Petree Sayer Jim and I had a scrumptious feed on the old field service, and received a leather bill holder apiece as gifts. Turkey, sweet potatoes, oranges, apple cider, champagne, plum pudding etc,etc. And I find white haired French mother whose 2 sons are aviaters came in and talked to us after dinner.

Ben went to the french hospital [for?] the measles.

Luck! 9 days in quarantine. 1 day free- Christmas K.P. and the measles! Oh yes! Went to see Vern at the Amer. Hospital yesterday. He’s getting [?] [?] [says?]. Frank is also there. I was put on KP for a few minutes and then changed to [?] which means that my work will nearly always [be finished?] in the [morning?].

Days have been filled with sweeping and mopping, trying to keep warm and going out to get [some?] real grub.

Thursday night I was going to take Grady to the YMCA Hotel for dinner, but he went to the hospital w. tonsilitis. Spat, Jim, Sayer and I went [as?] [Jim?] broke out at the table with measles. He [hadn't?] had them before. Now he is in the hospital again. Today I got [two?] [packages?] from the University Un[?] One of films, sugar, [?] [?] [deleted]and[deleted] malted milk & paper from the folks, and one a [sweater?] from a lady in Redwood. And yesterday I had a letter from Edna at the YMCA headquarters. [Thus?] it is [spattered?] over Paris.
