Our voyages are either blessed by Poseidon, or there is some great catastrophe impending. Another safe journey thru submarine-threatened waters. I really am in Athens and have walked over, thru and under the Acropolis, Temple of Zeus, Stadium, Socrates prison and the National Museum as well as modern Athens and an endless list of places that I

can scarce believe myself to be in. I can believe as easily that you and I will sail, stroll and drive among these scenes together some time. We will do it. The simple grandeur and beauty of the region cannot be over described. But it can be under described. I'll be sending you some pictures (which you will have seen many times before, but which will have an added interest now for us) and will write at length what I will mail from Paris. Don & I were on the Acropolis together yesterday and saw at night Charley Chaplin (Charlot, he is called in Europe) at a theater, as well as a pathetie melodrama taken near San Diego! "Charlot Dentist." Don't know how long we'll be in Athens. Whenever we can get a boat from Itea we'll go. Probably we'll have a couple more days here. And you will probably get my Paris mail before this, as I was advised to keep all letters to mail in P., far better service. Just to
