I wish Bee and I had been standing
near when you made a landing after
your solo flight.

Bertie is to enter Stanford Oct 1st
to take special government work in
aviation.

He is a great big boy now. Has been
working on ranches all summer to get
in good condition for his work.

I have just had the very painful experience
of passing my 35th birthday. Am
certainly an old maid but a very contented
one and the family do say I am not a
bit [crabbed?] or so very "terrible" to
look at, not having lost my teeth
as yet.

Have not seen the girls for a year but
they write often and let us know how
they are getting along. They are as fat
and sassy as usual.
