Somewhere in Germany April 4, 1945
Dr. Donald B. Tressider, President Stanford University
My dear Dr. Tressider,
Your letter of March is at hand. Indeed , like any loyal member of the Stanford family, I hope to return to continue my studies at the Farm when the war is done. My major will be pre-legal until such time as I can enter into the advanced curriculum. The course of study I was following was I believe, satisfactory in content, method and time requirements.
So far as housing is concerned, I think there will always be ample accommodations in Palo Alto and vicinity, including the frats and dorms.
I hope to soon see a revival of Stanford's once-strong athletic program.
I was very sorry to hear of the death of Dr. Cowdery.
Hoping to "see you on the Quad."
Sincerely, Bill Bell
Pfc (Wm. H.)
