Dear Sirs-

We're out of combat now, & in our regular rest camp. this is the first time I've had to answer your circular letter of last March. Here are my answers to your questions in the order you asked them:

1. Yes, I'd like to return to Stanford. 2. I'd like to get a Masters degree in History, & use as my subject the present war here in the Pacific, and some of its problems. 3. I see no reason why the time-requirements etc. should be changed from their pre-war standards. 4. I'll probably live in a house offcampus, but not right in Palo Alto. 5. I've been over here 30 months. You needn't worry about my extracurricular activities.

Sincerely Jim Farquharson 1st Lt. F.A. 1st Cavalry Division

P.S. I'll ask you a question: I graduated in 2/2 with a B.A. Will I be eligable for Gov't financial help under the GI Bill of Rights to get my M.A.? (if not, I doubt if I'd try for the degree.)
